SimChem serves as South Chicago Packing’s sale arm for their sustainable impregnation and cascade wax products in the corrugated industry. Based on Chicago’s southside, the Fats and Oil division of South Chicago Packing supplies tallow-based shortening and frying oils to various well known restaurants and fast food chains.
Based on SimChem’s knowledge of wax applications in the corrugated industry, SCP developed a line of products for impregnation and cascade applications made from fully hydrogenating beef tallow or palm oil, based on raw material cost and customer preference. These products are sustainable alternatives to oil-based paraffin waxes, and give users the comparable, if not better, performance.
- SCP 140 Impregnation Wax – A repulpable and recyclable alternative in impregnation applications, SCP 140 beef tallow and palm based waxes provide non-wicking characteristics and increased stacking strength when applied to the medium. SCP 140 is ideal for your high performance box that required water-resistance.
- NaturaKote Cascade Wax – NaturaKote is SCP’s new and improved Cascade Wax product, providing the ultimate water barrier for produce boxes. Thoroughly tested in the California and Florida produce markets, NaturaKote is an ideal and comparable alternative to the current synthetic paraffin products on the market, offering wax pick-up numbers in the 38% to 42% range.
